I grew up in Chicago, left home to attend Purdue University and ended up moving to St. Simons Island, Georgia shortly after graduation. It is here where I raised her family and pursued a career in Interior Design. It was only after my three daughters left home that I turned to an interest in oil painting. It was love at first brush stroke. Since then she I studied with several local artists and have also participated in painting workshops in Italy, Ireland and most recently in Provence.
Every morning I am fortunate to wake up to the beauty of the coastal marshlands of the Golden Isles of Georgia. Seeing it through the eyes of a painter makes it even more beautiful, more spiritual.
Having worked artistically as an Interior Designer for over thirty years, I always had a longing to paint. I finally made the time to pursue this passion in 2002. Learning to paint has been a challenge of which I have loved every minute. Each painting is a journey that I never know how it’s going to end. Unlike, my well planned design projects, I get lost in the process of painting and the outcome is always a happy surprise. To paint is to live in the moment.
